In a heartfelt gesture, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has organised a tribute to honour the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
During the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, players, umpires, and match officials will don black armbands as a mark of respect. A minute of silence will also be observed prior to the match.
Additionally, in recognition of the solemn occasion, cheerleaders and fireworks will not be a part of today’s game. This poignant tribute follows a brutal attack in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, where 26 lives were tragically lost, including two foreign tourists.
This act of solidarity stands as a reminder of the IPL’s commitment to using its platform to unite communities and acknowledge the resilience of those affected by tragedy.
