Mumbai Indians secured two vital points with a commanding four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 33 of the season at the Wankhede Stadium

Hardik Pandya’s leadership and an all-around team effort secured MI two vital points and strengthened their position on the leaderboard.

MI’s bowlers paved the way for success by restricting SRH to a modest total of 162/5. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and Will Jacks showcased precision and skill, each claiming two wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Pandya supported with a wicket apiece, keeping the opposition under relentless pressure throughout the innings.

Batting first, SRH started on a cautious note but found momentum through Abhishek Sharma, who capitalised on an early reprieve and scored a brisk 40 off 28 balls. Heinrich Klaasen added valuable runs towards the end with a spirited cameo of 37 off 28 balls. Despite their efforts, the SRH batsmen struggled against MI’s disciplined bowling attack.

In the chase, MI’s innings ignited with Rohit Sharma, an impact substitute, unleashing powerful strokes to set the tone. His fiery 26 off 16 deliveries included towering sixes that thrilled the crowd. Will Jacks continued his stellar form with a quick 36, and Suryakumar Yadav contributed stylishly with 26 off 15 balls.

Pat Cummins led SRH’s bowling attack with commendable figures of 3/26, dismissing key MI batsmen and briefly halting their charge. However, MI’s lower order, steered by Tilak Varma (unbeaten 21) and Hardik Pandya, ensured a comfortable chase, reaching the target in just 18.5 overs.

Will Jacks earned the Player of the Match award for his exceptional all-round performance, showcasing brilliance with both bat and ball.
