In a move to strengthen Bhubaneswar’s urban transport infrastructure, senior officials from Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) conducted a hands-on field visit today.
The initiative aims to optimize service delivery and ensure a seamless commuting experience for passengers using the city’s public transport system.
Leading the visit was Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Managing Director, CRUT, alongside General Manager Sanjay Kumar Biswal. The duo traveled in an Ama Bus, following a regular commuter route to observe firsthand the operations and challenges faced by daily passengers.
During the journey, the officials engaged with passengers to gather feedback on bus services, routes, and ticketing systems. Many commuters highlighted their experiences and shared suggestions to improve frequency and comfort levels. This direct interaction provided valuable insights into passenger expectations and potential areas for improvement.
The CRUT team also inspected the efficiency of ticketing and payment systems to ensure smooth transactions and eliminate operational bottlenecks. Furthermore, they conducted a comprehensive review of onboard safety measures, examining emergency preparedness, surveillance mechanisms, and overall security standards.
This proactive initiative reaffirms CRUT’s dedication to delivering safe, reliable, and commuter-friendly public transport across the Capital Region. By directly assessing services and incorporating passenger feedback, the transport authority aims to make informed policy decisions that will enhance urban mobility in Bhubaneswar.
