A charred body of an unidentified youth was recovered near Kelucharan Park under the jurisdiction of the Mancheswar police station in Bhubaneswar.
Passersby discovered the partially burnt remains and alerted the police. On receiving information, personnel from Mancheswar police station, accompanied by a scientific investigation team, rushed to the spot to secure the area and collect forensic evidence.
Investigators noted burn marks across the victim’s body, with clothing significantly scorched. Police suspect that the youth was murdered elsewhere before the perpetrators brought the body near the park and set it ablaze to destroy evidence and conceal the victim’s identity.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, while law enforcement scans nearby CCTV footage to track down the culprits.
