Orissa High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Choudwar Circle Jail senior superintendent Sujit Kumar Roul to next week.
During the proceedings, the High Court directed state law enforcement authorities to submit an updated case diary to examine the latest status of the ongoing investigation. Roul was previously taken into custody following allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery, and record manipulation connected to a high-profile inmate escape from Choudwar jail.
Investigators allege that official duty records and minute books were tampered with to conceal administrative lapses following the jailbreak. After lower courts previously denied his bail petitions, Roul moved the High Court seeking relief. The High Court will hear the matter next week after reviewing the comprehensive updated case diary.
