Orissa High Court has deferred the hearing on the interim protection petition filed by senior IPS officer Sushant Kumar Nath.

The court postponed the matter to November 6, during which it will jointly hear Nath’s applications seeking interim protection from coercive action and the quashing of the original FIR registered against him.

Nath approached the High Court after a case was registered against him following sexual harassment and criminal intimidation allegations levelled by a former woman jailer.

The complainant alleged that she faced professional retaliation, departmental proceedings, and administrative harassment after refusing unwelcome overtures and declining to withdraw an earlier case.

With the High Court extending the hearing date, the legal proceedings surrounding the high-profile case remain deferred until next week.
