An eight-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team visited Ganjam district in Odisha to conduct an on-ground assessment of recent flood and storm damage.
The central delegation inspected affected areas under Purushottampur block, paying detailed visits to Achuli and Handighar villages. During the field inspection, officials evaluated ground-level losses to agricultural land, residential settlements, and rural infrastructure caused by severe inundation.
The team also reviewed the Hiradharbati irrigation project to assess structural damage and water management systems. Senior state and district officials, including the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division) and the Ganjam District Collector, accompanied the central representatives throughout the tour.
The delegation’s findings and field observations will form the basis of a formal assessment report to determine financial assistance and central aid required for local rehabilitation efforts.
