Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group claimed on Monday, November 2, 2026, that it executed multi-stage drone strikes targeting Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia alongside military infrastructure in the southwestern city of Jizan.
The claim follows escalating cross-border tensions, coming just days after a separate strike on Dammam airport resulted in two casualties and eight injuries.
Dammam and Jizan Targeted in 48-Hour Operation
According to statements by Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the group conducted two separate drone strikes against Dammam Airport over a 48-hour window:
“Our armed forces have, over the past 48 hours, succeeded in targeting Dammam Airport in two phases with two drones. The operation achieved its objective successfully and led to a disruption of air traffic at the airport.”
In addition to the Dammam operation, Saree claimed that Houthi forces launched targeted drone strikes against an early-warning radar installation and a military transport aircraft stationed at Jizan Airport.
Saudi Coalition Interceptions and Regional Security
While Saudi authorities did not immediately verify the specific claims regarding Dammam or Jizan, the Saudi-led coalition announced earlier on Monday that air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed two hostile drones over the capital city of Riyadh. Coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Malki confirmed the interceptions near Riyadh without attributing direct responsibility.
The recent escalation targeting key transport infrastructure follows renewed hostilities between the coalition and Houthi forces, raising security concerns across critical civil aviation hubs and energy corridors in the Arabian Peninsula.
