Punjabi actor-model Samreen Kaur has hit back at social media trolls accusing her of dating Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh for money and fame, asserting that she has been financially independent since the age of 17.
Following Kaur’s public statement, the star pacer publicly voiced his support for his girlfriend, urging internet users to end double standards and stop intruding into their personal lives.
‘Happy, in Love, and Financially Sound’: Samreen Kaur Calls Out Double Standards
Addressing recurring online criticism via her Instagram stories on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Kaur pointed out the hypocrisy surrounding public relationships:
”The more I see the world, the more I realise how hypocritical people on social media can be. If you hide your man, you’re apparently not proud of him enough. If you love him loudly, you’re doing it for fame. If you have standards, you’re selfish. And if you genuinely love someone for who they are and how they treat you, apparently you’re going to leave him anyway.”
Dismissing claims that she entered the relationship for financial security, Kaur highlighted her professional journey:
Kaur emphasized that she has been earning her own living since 17, taking care of herself financially, and traveling to over 20 countries independently.
She expressed disappointment over women tearing down other women on social media platforms.
Reaffirming her boundaries, Kaur stated she would block users spreading negativity, adding: “I’m happy, I’m in love, and I’m living my life. That’s all that matters. Please let us be.”

The cricketer urged followers to spread kindness: “To all the people too concerned for what we should and what we shouldn’t do, please take a break. Live and let live. Make this world and internet a better place.”
The couple officially confirmed their relationship on Instagram in July 2026. They have since faced online trolling over public appearances and match performances during IPL 2026, despite consistently supporting each other at events including the Asian Games.
