As the severe cyclonic storm Cyclone Arnab barrels toward the eastern coast, Indian Railways has taken immediate precautionary measures to safeguard passengers.
Originating in the Bay of Bengal, the weather system is projected to cross the Andhra Pradesh–Yanam coast between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam. With predicted maximum sustained wind speeds touching 115–125 km/h and gusts scaling up to 140 km/h, regional transportation networks are facing massive disruptions.
The South Coast Railway (SCoR) officially confirmed that multiple train services passing through Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have been cancelled, short-terminated, or short-originated.
