The Department of Mission Shakti has joined forces with the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), and the National Institute for Social Work and Social Sciences (NISWASS) to launch a comprehensive state-level capacity-building initiative.
Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida officially inaugurated the specialised training programme today at Mission Shakti Bhawan, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar. The program is designed specifically for Board of Directors (BoD) members of women-led Producer Companies from across Odisha.
From Self-Help to Corporate Leadership
Highlighting the remarkable transformation of women from the grassroots, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida noted that Self-Help Group (SHG) members have evolved beyond individual producers.
“By joining hands and working collectively, Women Self-Help Groups have transformed themselves into Producer Groups and Producer Companies, taking charge of their own businesses and enterprises. Their continuous efforts, positive determination, unwavering courage, and entrepreneurial spirit have enabled them to achieve significant success,” stated Smt. Parida.
To fuel this momentum, the State Government is extending comprehensive support through state budget allocations, interest-free bank loans, targeted skill development, and specialised training initiatives.
A Scalable Blueprint for Growth
The collaborative training initiative will run in 13 distinct batches from October 26 to December 22, 2026. In total, 320 Board of Directors members representing 64 Women Producer Companies—including 63 companies under the Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) initiative and one Millet Producer Company—will undergo intensive training.
The inaugural session kicked off today with 25 Board of Directors members representing five dynamic Women Producer Companies from Angul district.
Core Focus Areas of the Training
The curriculum is meticulously crafted to bridge the knowledge gap in enterprise management. Key modules include:
-
FPO Governance & Leadership: Cultivating confident and transparent corporate leadership.
-
Financial Management: Mastering accounting practices, budgeting, and fiscal compliance.
-
Business Planning: Formulating long-term operational and expansion strategies.
-
Market Linkages: Connecting rural enterprises directly with profitable consumer and industrial markets.
Accelerating the Journey to Mahalakhpati Didis
This strategic partnership is expected to do more than just impart corporate skills; it aims to nurture capable business leaders who can scale women-led enterprises. By enhancing managerial capabilities, the initiative will help women entrepreneurs unlock new business opportunities, boost household incomes, and fortify financial independence.
Ultimately, the program serves as a vital catalyst in accelerating Odisha’s women from Lakhpati Didis to Mahalakhpati Didis, paving the way for a resilient, prosperous, and women-led state economy.
