Bookings for director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic, Ramayana Part One, have gained significant momentum, crossing the Rs 8.72 crore mark in pre-sales within five days of opening on Dussehra.
The magnum opus has already sold nearly 2 lakh tickets nationwide as anticipation builds ahead of its theatrical release.
While the Hindi version accounts for 87% of total bookings, regional language rollouts are steadily picking up. The Kannada version, now open across nearly 100 screens, is approaching the Rs 1 crore milestone, reporting up to 72% morning show occupancy in select centres.
Meanwhile, Telugu screenings have opened on a limited scale, with a wider regional rollout expected as revenue-sharing negotiations wrap up.
Premium viewing formats, particularly IMAX, have emerged as the primary growth driver for pre-sales. Despite accounting for only 3.8% of total show counts, IMAX screenings have generated nearly 25% of overall advance earnings.
IMAX shows averaged approximately 170 tickets sold per screening—nearly five times the average of regular shows—despite a higher average ticket price of Rs 1,095. Formats such as 4DX, ICE, and Dolby Cine have also registered over 12,000 ticket sales across multiple languages.
