The political landscape in Odisha is heating up once again over campus politics and college elections, with ruling party leaders trading sharp remarks.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Fakir Mohan Naik has launched a scathing attack on the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), questioning the opposition party’s diminishing clout among the student community.
In a recent reaction to OTV, MLA Fakir Mohan Naik asserted that the BJD has completely lost its grip on youth and student politics. Highlighting their dismal showing, the BJP leader claimed that the opposition party struggled to even field or support candidates across 50 colleges in the state.
“The current situation clearly reflects how BJD’s influence and footprint have drastically shrunk within the student society,” Naik stated, emphasizing that the youth of Odisha have moved past the previous dispensation’s governance style.
Expressing absolute confidence in the ruling party’s grassroots support, the BJP legislator made a bold declaration that the party’s student wing is well-positioned to sweep upcoming campus polls across the state.
This sharp exchange has once again thrust the debate over student union elections and campus dynamics into the spotlight, signalling an intensifying political rivalry across Odisha’s educational institutions.
