Ganjam: There are reports of exchange of fire between Maoists and security forces near Chahali jungle at Kandhamal-Ganjam borders on Thursday.
The exchange of fire started during combing operation by the security forces. Sources said the exchange of fire continued for several hours, but there was no loss of life from either side.
Sources said after getting a tip off that Maoists are camping in the jungle region, DVF jawans embarked on combing operation. The red rebels could not withstand the intense search and combing operation launched by the security forces.
The security forces have recovered some incriminating documents and other objects from the spot.
