Fear and panic hit Kendughat village in Nabarangpur’s Umerkote after an outbreak of fever and diarrhoea killed an 8-year-old child and sickened several residents.
According to information, the outbreak spread rapidly across households, killing an 8-year-old boy and forcing several symptomatic residents to be rushed to the nearby Pujariguda Community Health Centre (CHC) for urgent care.
Upon receiving news, the district health department immediately dispatched a Mobile Medical Team to Kendughat village.
The team has set up temporary arrangements to examine affected villagers, conduct preliminary medical check-ups, and distribute necessary medicines.
The rapid spread of fever and diarrhoea has sparked growing concern, prompting villagers to demand thorough testing to find the source of contamination, alongside a steady supply of clean drinking water and medical care.
