Nabarangpur: A five-year-old boy was bludgeoned to death in front of his father inside a temple in Sarguli Hill at Mendra village area under Dabugaon police station limits in Nabarangpur district on Thursday.
As per reports, Sanadhar Pujari, a priest of the village’s Shiva Temple, along with his 5-year-old son, Chandan, had gone to the temple for puja. Due to some reason unknown, Sanadhar and a youth named Jalandhar Santa entered into an argument near the temple.
Losing his cool, Jalandhar attacked Sanadhar and bludgeoned the child to death. He also amputated the dead child’s leg. Sanadhar also sustained injuries in the attack.
Later, the villagers apprehended the accused Jalandhar and handed him over to the Dabugon police.
Balasore SP Rohit Verma, Umerkote SDPO Madhushikta Mishra, and Dabugaon police station IIC Sushil Pradhan also took stock of the investigation.
