A shocking incident of violence has rocked Khandara Chhak under Hinjilikatu police limits in Ganjam district, where a man was attacked and his throat slit by a group of youths late Friday night.
The victim has been identified as Uddhab Padhi of Khandara village. According to reports, Padhi was travelling on his motorcycle toward Hinjilikatu when several youths asked him for a lift. After he refused, they allegedly stopped him and attacked him with a knife.
Padhi sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Hinjilikatu Sub‑Divisional Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur for advanced treatment.
Police reached the hospital and recorded statements from Padhi’s family members. A case has been registered, and investigators are working to identify and apprehend the attackers.
