In a rare and astonishing sight, hundreds of kites (birds of prey) suddenly descended upon the historic and bustling Grand Road (Badadanda) in Puri on Wednesday morning, creating a massive flutter among locals and passersby.
The unusual incident occurred near the revered Mausima Temple, where a massive congregation of kites was seen soaring through the sky and hovering low over the road. The sudden spectacle immediately drew the attention of morning commuters, pilgrims, and local residents, many of whom stopped in their tracks to witness the bizarre phenomenon. Several people captured the extraordinary scene on their smartphones, with videos quickly going viral across various social media platforms.
According to preliminary reports and local accounts, the massive gathering of birds was triggered by pieces of meat scattered on the road. Attracted by the strong scent, the kites flocked to the spot in large numbers, swirling around for quite some time before dispersing. Residents noted that witnessing such a massive concentration of kites on the holy thoroughfare is an extremely rare occurrence.
