A violent attack unfolded in the heart of Bhubaneswar on Monday night, leaving a young man critically injured.
The victim, identified as Vicky Nayak, was ambushed by a group of unidentified assailants wielding sharp weapons near Sishu Bhawan traffic square.
According to reports, Nayak and his friends were dining at a local restaurant when the attackers, believed to be around eight in number, arrived in a vehicle and launched a brutal assault. The 25-year-old sustained severe injuries to his hands, legs, and head and was swiftly rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
While the exact motive behind the attack remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest old enmity could be a factor. Nayak’s mother has demanded swift action against the perpetrators, while locals have raised concerns over the rising violence in the Kedarpalli area.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but pressure is mounting on law enforcement to address the growing crime rate and ensure justice for the victim.
