Yash’s much-awaited pan-India action drama Toxic is off to a roaring start at the box office even before its theatrical release. The film has crossed ₹18 crore in advance bookings within 48 hours, signalling strong audience anticipation ahead of its August 26 release.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic opened advance bookings on Friday, August 21, with national cinema chains joining a few hours later. The film quickly witnessed strong demand across major ticket-booking platforms.

By Sunday morning, Toxic had sold more than 4.7 lakh tickets across India in all languages. The original Kannada version alone contributed around ₹10 crore in advance gross, according to the figures cited in the report.

Toxic advance booking: Hindi version shows strong demand

The Hindi-dubbed version of Toxic has also recorded a strong response, particularly in North India, where Yash gained a massive following following the success of the KGF franchise.

By 8 am on Sunday, the Hindi version had reportedly generated around ₹8 crore in advance bookings for day one.

The film was also selling at a rapid pace on BookMyShow, with reports indicating that it was moving around 10,000 tickets per hour by Sunday morning.

Toxic outpaces Jawan, Dhurandhar 2 and Animal

Toxic’s first-day ticket sales have put it among the fastest-selling Indian films in recent years.

The film reportedly sold nearly 2.5 lakh tickets across India in its first 24 hours of advance booking. That figure is higher than the first-day advance sales cited for:

  • Jawan — around 1.5 lakh tickets
  • Dhurandhar 2 — around 1.3 lakh tickets
  • Animal — around 55,000 tickets

The Hindi version of Toxic alone reportedly sold around 60,000 tickets in its first 24 hours, exceeding Animal’s overall figure in the same period.

When does Toxic release?

Toxic is scheduled to release in theatres on August 26, 2026. The film stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.

The film has generated considerable buzz ahead of release, particularly around its action sequences, intimate scenes and controversial imagery. The Central Board of Film Certification cleared Toxic with no cuts and an A certificate.

With advance bookings already showing strong momentum, the film is now expected to mount a major challenge at the box office when it opens on Wednesday.
