A woman was allegedly abducted, gang-raped, and stabbed while returning from work late at night in Jajpur town.
The incident reportedly occurred on April 22 but came to light four days later when the survivor courageously filed a complaint with local authorities. According to the complaint, the woman had been waiting for transportation near Gandhi Chhak when an auto-rickshaw driver offered her a ride. However, instead of taking her home, the driver and two other passengers brought her to an isolated location where three more men were waiting.
The assailants, some reportedly under the influence of alcohol, subjected the woman to extreme physical and sexual violence before stabbing her. Despite her injuries, she managed to escape and seek help from a local resident, who assisted her in contacting her family. The survivor is now receiving treatment at Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital.
Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible. This case has sparked outrage in the community, highlighting the urgent need for stricter measures to protect women.
