Bhubaneswar: On Day 1 of a week-long special drive to check buses & other light vehicles engaged in transporting school students in Odisha, the Transport Department officials issued a total of 235 challans on Wednesday.
According to the State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, of the 235 challans, 173 vehicles were detected without valid a Fitness Certificate while 85 of them did not have permits.
As per the reports, 98 vehicles lack insurance, 51 were detected without a PUC certificate, 25 did not pay tax and 59 of drivers did not even have Driving License. Besides, two buses have been also seized in Rourkela, the STA said.
