Tamil actor Vishal has raised concerns over Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s decision to assign the Film Technology and Cinematograph portfolio to Egmore MLA Rajmohan.
Vishal, speaking on X, described the move as “disheartening,” arguing that Vijay himself, with decades of cinema experience, would have been the ideal candidate to lead reforms in the struggling Tamil film industry.

The portfolio allocation was part of the nine ministerial appointments approved by Governor Rajendra Arlekar on May 10. Vishal emphasised that the Tamil film industry is “bleeding” and urgently requires relief measures and structural reforms. His remarks have sparked debate across political and film circles, highlighting the intersection of cinema and governance in Tamil Nadu.
