In a serious crime reported from Visakhapatnam, a Navy personnel has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a 28-year-old woman, police said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Chintada Ravindra, is posted at INS Dega and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Incident Took Place in Gajuwaka Area
According to officials, the incident occurred at the accused’s residence in the Gajuwaka locality. The victim, Polipalli Mounika, had reportedly known the accused for several years, and the two were in contact since 2021.
Police said the woman was invited to the residence, where an argument allegedly escalated, leading to the crime.
Efforts to Conceal Evidence Under Probe
Investigators stated that attempts were made to conceal evidence following the incident. Authorities have recovered remains and are examining multiple locations linked to the case as part of the ongoing probe.
Officials are also verifying reports that certain items were disposed of in different areas to avoid detection.
