Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram has embarked on an official four-day visit to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from October 1 to October 4, 2026.
The multi-state tour will cover a series of high-level engagements, including senior citizen welfare events, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities, visits to Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), and participation in the Uttarakhand Aadi Rangotsav.
Key Highlights of the Four-Day Tour
- October 1 (Meerut & Ramnagar): The Minister began his tour in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, attending a welfare event hosted by the Senior Citizen Welfare Association at Pallavapuram before traveling to Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, for an overnight stay.
- October 2 (Bazpur): On Gandhi Jayanti, Oram will lead a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive at the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Bazpur, Uttarakhand.
- October 3 (Kainchidham & Khatima): The Minister will offer prayers at the renowned Kainchidham Temple before inspecting educational facilities at EMRS Khatima and proceeding to Rudrapur.
- October 4 (Khatima & Return): Oram will attend the Uttarakhand Aadi Rangotsav at Khatima to celebrate indigenous cultural arts before concluding his trip and returning to New Delhi in the evening.
Strengthening Tribal Education and Governance
The official visit aims to strengthen ground-level monitoring of tribal welfare schemes and review educational infrastructure provided under the network of Eklavya Model Residential Schools across Uttarakhand.
The interactions will provide a platform for local stakeholders, students, and government officials to deliberate on expanding social welfare programs and promoting indigenous cultural heritage in the region.
