Special Gram Sabhas are assembling nationwide on Oct 2, 2026, to deliberate on transformative governance reforms, evaluate public services, and officially launch the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) 2026-27, themed “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas”.
Facilitated by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in collaboration with multiple central ministries, these sessions empower Gram Panchayats to formulate inclusive, evidence-based Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) for the 2027–28 financial year.
Citizens and local leaders will review critical welfare schemes spanning rural employment, the Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, digital land records, and food security.
Running since 2018, the People’s Plan Campaign enables over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats to upload structured plans via eGramSwaraj.
Beyond infrastructure and welfare schemes, the discussions will also champion legal awareness around new criminal laws, digital transformation, women and child protection initiatives like Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat, and the culmination of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, focusing on the Solid Waste Management Rules.
The government has earnestly invited rural citizens to actively participate in their local Gram Sabhas to help shape priorities that fuel the broader vision of a Viksit Bharat.
