Ganjam: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch arrested two traders illegally trading ganja and seized a huge cache of contraband.
The arrested accused have been identified as Banmali and Arun.
Acting on reliable inputs, the officials of the STF conducted a raid at Buguda Raghunath Sahi in Ganjam district. During the search, the officials seized 107 kg Ganja (dry cannabis), 517 gram Opium, 607 gram gold and 196 gram silver from their possession.
Besides, documents pertaining to 29 land property have also been recovered during the raid.
Following this, a case has been registered against the two accused brothers under Section 18 (c)/ 20(b) (ii) (C) and 25, 29 of NDPS Act 1985 and forwarded to the court.
Further investigation in this connection is underway, said sources.
