In an unexpected twist following the viral Coldplay “kiss cam” controversy, Hollywood actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow has been hired by AI startup Astronomer as a “temporary spokesperson.”
The promotional video, posted on Astronomer’s official X account, humorously introduces Paltrow as the face of the company amid the ongoing PR storm involving former CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR head Kristin Cabot. Both resigned after being caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert near Boston, an incident that quickly went viral due to their awkward attempts to avoid the spotlight.
Gwyneth’s Message:
“Thank you for your interest in Astronomer. I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer,” says Paltrow in the clip.
Rather than addressing the scandal, she describes the company’s expertise: “Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow. We’re thrilled that so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.”
She also references the company’s upcoming Beyond Analytics event in September, steering the narrative back to the firm’s core business.

The kiss cam clip featuring Byron and Cabot sparked intense online chatter. Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin even joked on stage about their evasive reaction, fueling speculation about their personal lives.
