In a move to enhance passenger safety and infrastructure, the Indian Railways has announced the cancellation of few trains in the Khurda Road division due to essential modernisation works.
The disruptions are linked to the launching of girders for a new Rail Over Bridge (ROB) at the Chainpal level crossing gate on the Talcher-Talcher Road section.
The works, aimed at improving long-term convenience and safety for commuters, will affect travel on specific dates this week. On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Train No. 18125, the Rourkela-Puri Express, will be fully cancelled.
The following day, Thursday, November 20, 2025, will see more extensive disruptions with the cancellation of Train No. 18126 (Puri-Rourkela Express), Train No. 22839 (Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity), and Train No. 22840 (Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity).
Railway authorities have urged passengers to cooperate during this period, emphasising that these temporary inconveniences will lead to smoother and safer journeys in the future. Travellers are advised to check alternative routes or reschedule plans accordingly.
