The much-anticipated Mega ‘Sisir Saras-2026’ is set to commence soon, with Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik visiting the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar to inspect and review the ongoing preparations.

During the review, nodal officers from various departments provided the minister with a detailed briefing on the fair’s readiness, confirming that scheduled tasks have been completed as planned. Appreciating the efforts so far, the minister urged the teams to expedite the remaining work to ensure timely completion.

Minister Naik thoroughly examined key aspects of the fairgrounds, including stall installations, lighting arrangements, fire safety measures, cleanliness, drinking water facilities, and overall security protocols. He emphasized the importance of organising the event in a well-structured, clean, and plastic-free manner, issuing necessary directives to the concerned officials to achieve this.

Notably, the fair, scheduled from January 10 to 18, will feature 340 sales stalls, with artisans and self-help groups from 20 states across India participating. The event will showcase diverse handicrafts, cultural evenings, and aims to generate business worth approximately 30 crore rupees. The minister expressed that this mega fair will play a pivotal role in bolstering the rural economy and laying a strong foundation for a self-reliant Odisha.
