A tragic landslide in Chhaten, North Sikkim, claimed the lives of three Indian Army personnel on Sunday evening.
The disaster, triggered by days of relentless rain, struck a military camp, leaving six soldiers missing while four others were rescued with minor injuries.
The deceased personnel have been identified as Havaldar Lakhwinder Singh, Lance Naik Munish Thakur, and Porter Abhishek Lakhada. Rescue teams continue their efforts to locate the missing soldiers despite the challenging conditions.
Authorities have warned of ongoing landslide risks as heavy rainfall persists in the region. Emergency teams are actively working to ensure the safety of stranded individuals and prevent further damage.
