In a move to ensure the smooth flow of vehicular traffic and minimize congestion, the Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have announced traffic regulations for the upcoming Maha Shivratri celebrations at Shree Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar.

These regulations, effective from midnight on February 25, 2025, aim to facilitate a hassle-free experience for devotees visiting the temple on February 26, 2025.

Under the Odisha Urban Police Act 2003 and the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate regulations, the following traffic diversions and parking arrangements have been implemented:

  1. Rath Road & Punama Gate: Vehicles will be diverted from Badheibanka Square to BM High School ground for parking. Heavy vehicles are prohibited on Rath Road during this period.
  2. Kedar Gouri Temple & Sanitarium Chhak: Vehicles may use Koti Tirtha Lane for one-way traffic and park at the rear side of Taranga Club.
  3. Samanatrapur: Vehicles will merge at Substation Square and be directed towards the northern side of Ananta Basudev Temple for parking.
  4. Keuta Sahi: Vehicles will be diverted from Sriram Nagar to BMC market complex/Ananta Basudev parking via Substation Square.
  5. Tara Sundari Road: Vehicles will be redirected from Municipality Hospital to BM High School ground for parking.
  6. Mausima & Kalpana Side: Buses and heavy vehicles will be allowed up to Sanitarium Square and parked at the new bus stop there.
  7. Invited Guests/Govt. Officials: Vehicles may take a diversion at Badheibanka Square towards designated parking areas via Municipality Hospital Road.
