The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police announced traffic diversions in the capital city as the 5th Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly approaches from November 27 to December 31, 2025.
Moreover, authorities issued the public notice under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.
Consequently, the order seeks to regulate traffic around the Assembly premises while addressing heightened security concerns.
In addition, officials emphasised that the diversions will remain in force throughout the Assembly session days.
🚦 Key Diversions
- Vehicles moving from Housing Board Square towards Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Square.
- Traffic from AG Square towards PMG will turn right at Jaydev Bhawan and proceed via IG Park Road.
- Vehicles from the Master Canteen heading to PMG will be diverted through adjoining lanes near Lower PMG.
- Vehicles from 120 Infantry Battalion Square will not proceed towards Rabindra Mandap; they will be diverted to Power House Square.
- Traffic from Raj Bhawan Square towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at 120 Battalion Square towards Sastrinagar Square.
🚨 Exemptions
Emergency vehicles such as police, fire, and ambulances, along with vehicles authorised to enter official buildings, including the State Assembly, Lokseva Bhavan, and other offices in the area, will remain exempt from these restrictions.
The Commissionerate Police confirmed that these traffic regulations will remain in force on all Assembly session days. Citizens are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
