Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today conducted the 15th session of his public grievance hearing program at the Unit-2 grievance cell in Bhubaneswar, directly addressing complaints from citizens who travelled from places like Keonjhar.

Accompanied by eight senior ministers, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and other officials, the CM listened to the public’s issues and issued immediate directives for resolution.

The grievance redressal initiative allows ordinary citizens to directly present their problems to the government and administration. All complaints are treated with equal importance, and based on their severity, relevant officials are instructed to act swiftly. Up to the 14th session, a total of 12,950 complaints had been received, with 12,371 (96%) successfully resolved. The remaining 579 are currently under process.

As in previous sessions, the CM began the day by meeting 34 differently-abled individuals and those suffering from chronic illnesses who were waiting outside. He accepted their grievance letters and directed officials to take immediate action. Following this, he addressed registered complainants inside the cell.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Majhi emphasised, “Our government is the people’s government. We are committed to providing all basic facilities, opportunities, and assistance to the people.” He further noted that regular grievance hearings are also being conducted at the district level by collectors, with instructions given to collectors and superintendents of police during a recent conference to resolve most issues locally. This aims to reduce the need for people to travel to Bhubaneswar for redressal.

Among today’s complainants, one woman beneficiary specially thanked the CM for resolving her long-standing issue through his intervention. Some complainants appeared distressed about personal problems, and the CM assured them of solutions, offering encouragement and commitments.
