The Bhubaneswar‑Kataka Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Rath Yatra, Bahuda Yatra, and Sunabesha celebrations at the ISKCON Temple, Bhubaneswar, scheduled for July 16, 24, and 25, 2026.
With thousands of devotees expected to participate, the advisory aims to ensure hassle‑free movement of vehicles and pedestrians around the temple area. Acting under the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 and the Traffic and Public Order Regulation, 2008, the Commissionerate has outlined specific restrictions and diversions.
🚦 Key Restrictions
- July 16 & 24 (Rath Yatra & Bahuda Yatra):
- From 3 PM onwards, heavy vehicles from the Khordha side will not be allowed on the service road toward Fire Station Square until the chariots pass CRP Square.
- No vehicles will be permitted between DAV School (Unit‑VIII) – Mausimaa Mandir – CRP Square and CRP Square – ISKCON Temple.
- Vehicles from Kasturba School and Nayapalli underpass toward CRP Square will also be restricted until the chariots pass.
- July 25 (Sunabesha Darshan):
- No vehicles will be allowed from CRP Square to ISKCON Temple between 5 PM and the end of the darshan.
Emergency vehicles — police, fire, and ambulances — are exempt from these restrictions.
The Commissionerate has urged citizens to plan their routes in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth conduct of the grand festivities.
