A cement-laden tractor overturned on the winding stretch of DD Ghat along National Highway 26 between Koraput and Rayagada on Tuesday morning, leaving three people injured.
According to reports, the tractor was transporting cement for railway tunnel construction near Lakshmi when the driver lost balance on the curved road. The vehicle toppled onto the highway, trapping five passengers. Three of them sustained injuries.
Local residents quickly reached the accident site and rescued the victims. They shifted the injured to Lakshmipur Medical Centre, where doctors provided treatment.
Police arrived soon after receiving information and restored normal traffic flow on the busy highway. Officers also launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
