Odisha is moving swiftly to fill 933 vacant Sub-Inspector posts in the state police force, with the written examination expected by the end of November.
The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC), under Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain, has formally begun the recruitment process, giving hope to thousands of aspirants after an earlier attempt was scrapped amid question paper leak allegations.
Previously registered candidates have been directed to update and validate their application details online between Oct 15 and Oct 29. Once this verification is complete, the written exam is scheduled to take place within three to four weeks—likely by late November.
Officials have clarified that exam centres will not be shuffled arbitrarily, and there will be no waiting list or reserve list. Selection will follow a UPSC-style pattern to ensure fairness and merit.
The commission has emphasised that every possible measure is being taken to conduct a transparent, impartial, and secure examination. Candidates facing OTP-related technical issues may see a possible extension of deadlines. All aspirants are advised to regularly monitor the official OUSSSC website for the latest updates, admit cards, and instructions.
The restart of the process under the new commission is being viewed as a significant step toward restoring confidence in police recruitment after the previous cancellation.
