Panic has gripped the capital city after three minor schoolboys mysteriously went missing from the Sitanath and Adarsha Basti areas under the Chandrasekharpur police limits.
The children failed to return home after leaving for their tuition classes, prompting their distressed families to lodge a formal missing person complaint at the Chandrasekharpur Police Station.
According to reports, the missing minors have been identified as Santosh Mohanty, Somnath Behera, and Bismay Swain. Two of them are ninth-grade students, while the third is studying in the seventh grade. On September 27, the trio left their respective homes for tuition but never returned. As two days passed with no word from them, desperate family members searched extensively on their own before turning to the police for help.
On Monday morning, locals from Sitanath and Adarsha Basti joined the parents in a joint search effort across the neighbourhood.
Taking the sensitive case seriously, the Chandrasekharpur Police registered a case and launched an immediate search operation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has formed three special teams to track down the children. Investigators are meticulously scanning CCTV footage from railway stations, Chandrasekharpur, Patharagadia, and surrounding localities. Additionally, technical surveillance, including mobile phone tracking, is being deployed to trace their whereabouts.
The sudden disappearance has created a wave of shock and anxiety throughout the local community. The families are holding onto hope that police efforts will safely reunite them with their children. Authorities have assured the public that the search operation is ongoing and every potential lead is being actively pursued.
