Bhubaneswar: While attending the party’s ‘Ashirwad Samavesh’ in Bhubaneswar’s Salia Sahi, senior BJP leader and veteran actress Hema Malini on Friday stated that the rate of corruption and unemployment has increased in Odisha in the last 25 years.
It’s also saddening that even though the state has abundant natural resources and many historic places, the tourism sector has not been developed by the ruling BJD in the last 25 years, she added.
The party’s Lok Sabha candidate Aparajita Sarangi is trying her best to bring a change to the lives of the slum dwellers at Salia Sahi and other places. The party in its manifesto has also promised Rs 50,000 cash vouchers to women, she said.
“I have been frequently visiting Odisha. Here Congress ruled for 50 years and BJD for 25 years. Despite being a cultural hub and blessed with natural resources, the state has not been developed much as the BJD neglected the state,” alleged Hema Malini.
At a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working hard and ensuring development in the country, nothing much has been done in Odisha by the BJD government, she alleged.
