Subarnapur: The Special Judge, Vigilance, Biolangir convicted the former Tahasildar-cum-Subregistrar of Tarva in Subarnapur district in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo 3 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The convict has been identified as Subrat Kumar Behera, Former Tahasildar-cum-SubRegistrar, Tarva, Dist-Subarnapur, A/p-Tahasildar, Kodinga, Dist-Nabarangpur.
Behera, who was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance vide Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.29 dt.16.11.2020 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant for registration of a sale deed towards sale of his land, was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir, and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of Rs 30,000.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the dismissal of Subrat Kumar Behera, A/p-Tahasildar, Kodinga, Dist-Nabarangpur from service following his conviction.
