Popular Tamil TV actress Subashini Balasubramaniyam, known for her role in the serial Kayal, died by suicide at her residence in Iyyappanthangal, Chennai, on April 6, 2026.
Police confirmed that she was found hanging inside her apartment following a reported family dispute.
Subashini, originally from Sri Lanka, had been active in the Tamil entertainment industry since her debut in the 2012 film Ini Avan. She also appeared in short films and social awareness videos, gaining recognition among audiences.
Reports suggest that she had an argument with her husband over a video call before the incident. Police sent her mortal remains for medical examination and have launched further investigations.
