Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal is set to be the only Indian competitor in singles at the prestigious French Open 2025, which begins on May 25 in Paris.
With an ATP ranking of 171, Nagal is expected to battle through the qualifiers to secure his place in the main draw.
Despite a challenging run in previous Grand Slams, Nagal remains India’s top-ranked singles player and has consistently featured in major tournaments. Earlier this year, he played in the Australian Open, losing in the first round to Czech player Tomas Machac. His best Grand Slam performance came at the 2024 Australian Open, where he reached the second round.
With no Indian women competing in singles, Nagal carries the hopes of Indian tennis fans as he prepares to step onto the clay courts of Roland Garros. His previous outing at the French Open in 2024 ended in a first-round defeat against Karen Khachanov, but he aims to make a deeper run this time.
As Nagal gears up for another Grand Slam challenge, Indian tennis supporters eagerly await his performance in Paris.
