A suicide blast struck the main gate of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar on November 24, killing at least three FC personnel and injuring several others.

Security forces responded swiftly, with police and FC commandos neutralising two attackers on the spot.

According to officials, the attack began around 8 a.m. when two suicide bombers detonated explosives at the main gate and a motorcycle stand. Troops stopped a third bomber before he could explode, preventing further casualties. Clearance operations remain underway as authorities suspect more militants may have infiltrated the compound.

Witnesses reported hearing two powerful explosions followed by intense gunfire. Panic spread across the crowded area near the military cantonment as residents rushed to safety. CCPO Mian Saeed confirmed that three FC personnel died in the attack, while five others sustained injuries.

Security forces recovered weapons and launched a search for accomplices inside the complex. Officials stated that three militants, including a suicide bomber, died during the assault. Investigators are examining CCTV footage that captured the moment of the blast.

The attack highlighted vulnerabilities in Peshawar’s defence infrastructure and reignited concerns about militant activity in Pakistan’s northwestern region. Authorities linked the incident to suspected terror groups and emphasised the need for stronger vigilance.

The Frontier Constabulary headquarters remains under heavy guard as police and army units continue clearance operations. Officials warned that casualties could rise as injured personnel undergo treatment.

This incident underscores the persistent threat of extremist violence in Pakistan and the urgent need for decisive countermeasures to protect sensitive installations.
