Sudhanshu Sekhar Barpanda took oath as Member of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) at a ceremony held in the Hearing Hall of OERC, Bhubaneswar, at 11:00 AM today.
ACS Energy Vishal Kumar Dev, senior officials of the Energy Department, and Members of the Commission attended the event. The ceremony reflected Odisha’s commitment to strengthening electricity regulation and promoting consumer-centric governance.
The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission oversees tariff determination, licensing, consumer protection, and renewable energy integration. Shri Barpanda’s induction brings extensive administrative experience that will enhance the Commission’s efficiency and support reforms in Odisha’s power sector.
Officials from OHPC, GRIDCO, OPTCL, and other power utilities joined the ceremony. The Energy Department highlighted that Shri Barpanda’s appointment aligns with the vision of Viksit Odisha, focusing on energy security and sustainable development.
His leadership is expected to reinforce transparency, competition, and innovation in electricity governance. The Commission continues to play a vital role in ensuring a reliable power supply and advancing renewable energy adoption across the state.
