The Odisha government is set to disburse the sixth phase of funds under its transformative Subhadra Yojana today.
The distribution ceremony, held in Puri as part of the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations, will provide monetary support to approximately 1.7 lakh women beneficiaries.
In a notable development, some beneficiaries will receive funds from the first and second instalments simultaneously, amounting to a total of Rs 10,000. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will oversee the proceedings at the event.
Subhadra Yojana, designed to enhance financial independence among women, has already proven to be a game-changer. Today’s financial assistance will empower women to engage in self-reliant activities and small businesses. Beneficiaries who applied by March 31 and met the eligibility criteria will also receive a Subhadra card—a convenient ATM-cum-debit card—for seamless transactions.
Since its inception, Subhadra Yojana has reached millions. Over 1.65 crore women received the first instalment, and nearly 98.82 lakh women benefited from the second instalment. With today’s distribution, the initiative continues to uplift women, reinforcing its commitment to gender equality and economic independence.
