Over one crore women enrolled under Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana will receive their next instalment of financial assistance on August 28, Raksha Bandhan, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Monday.

The state‑level disbursal event will be held in Nayagarh, marking the fifth instalment under the flagship women‑focused welfare scheme. Parida said that applications verified and recommended by district administrations by August 28 will be included in the payout, subject to eligibility.

She added that eligible beneficiaries left out of previous instalments will receive five instalments together, following verification. The government has received over 3.17 lakh new applications this financial year, many of which have already undergone field verification.

Each eligible woman will receive Rs 5,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme, launched on September 17, 2024, provides Rs 10,000 annually in two instalments—around Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day—for five years, totalling Rs 50,000 per beneficiary.

The Odisha government has allocated Rs 10,145 crore for the scheme in the 2026‑27 Budget, with over Rs 20,648 crore already transferred to more than one crore women through the first four instalments.

Parida said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and financial inclusion, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind.
