A shocking discovery was made under the Ketamani Hills near Khajuripalli village, Ganjam district, as skeletal remains suspected to belong to a young woman aged 20-25 were found on Saturday.

Local residents, while collecting wood, spotted the remains along with scattered objects like mobile phones, a churidar, a knife, and bones. Alerting the authorities, Sorada Police swiftly arrived to investigate.

Preliminary theories suggest the victim was murdered and attempts were made to destroy evidence by setting the body on fire.

A forensic team is expected to arrive from Chhatrapur on Sunday to collect samples for DNA testing, which may yield crucial insights.

The investigation continues as authorities pursue every lead to unravel the mystery surrounding this heinous crime.
