Bhubaneswar: While the state is reeling under heatwave conditions, as many as six places in Odisha recorded maximum day temperature above 40 °C.
According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center, Boudh became the hottest city in the state with a temperature of 42 °C. Other places which recorded above 40 °C are Angul 41.7 °C, Baripada 40 °C, Talcher 40.1 °C Titlagarh 40 °C and Sonepur 41 °C.
The maximum day temperature recorded in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar & Cuttack was 39.2 °C and 37.6 °C.
The places which recorded day temperature below 40 °C are Balasore 37 °C, Chandbali 38.4 °C, Paradip 32 °C, Gopalpur 32 °C, Puri 33 °C, Jharsuguda 39.4 °C, Keonjhar 38.2 °C, Sambalpur 39.3 °C, Sundergarh 38.5 °C, Hirakud 38.3 °C, Bhawanipatna 39.5 °C, Bolangir 39.6 °C, Koraput 33.6 °C, Phulbani 38 °C, Malkangiri 37 °C, Daringbadi 36 °C, Nayagarh 39.5 °C, Chhatrapur 34.7 °C, Paralakhemundi 35 °C and Rayagada 35.2 °C.
