Bhubaneswar: As many as six places in Odisha today recorded day temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or above. Titlagarh was the hottest at 42 degrees Celsius, the IMD regional centre said.
The other places which recorded temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or above were Bhawanipatna (41.5), Bolangir (41.2), Sonepur (40.6), Malkangiri (41) and Boudh (40).
In the twin cities, Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees Celsius while Cuttack recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
The Met centre here has also issued thunderstorm with lightning alert at few places in the State till June 2. According to the weatherman, the monsoon is likely to reach Odisha in the second week of June.
