In the tragic accident that occurred in Sikkim, two young survivors from Odisha, Swayam Supreet Nayak (16) and Sairaj Jena (17), have safely returned to Bhubaneswar for further medical treatment.

The duo was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar following their arrival at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station, where they were received by MLA Akash Das Nayak and senior officials from the Odisha Transport Department. A special ambulance was arranged to transport them to the hospital.

The accident took place near the Teesta River in Sikkim, leaving four individuals from Odisha missing, while Swayam and Sairaj were rescued and initially treated at a local hospital in Sikkim.

Acting on the instructions of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena closely monitored the situation, ensuring prompt action.

The Odisha government maintained constant communication with the Sikkim administration, deploying two senior transport officials to the site to oversee rescue operations and medical arrangements.

The state government made comprehensive arrangements to bring the survivors back to Bhubaneswar, ensuring their safe transfer to AIIMS for advanced care after receiving clearance from doctors in Sikkim. The focus now remains on the recovery of Swayam and Sairaj.
